May 2009 Adopters

May Adopters - 18

Howard and Regina adopted their first greyhound, Grace, three months ago at Greyhound Angels Adoption. When they attended our Bar-B-Que at the kennel, they started to look at the available greyhounds. They took Beauty out to meet Grace. They were wonderful together. They should be, they came from the same farm in Kansas. Beauty now lives with Howard, Regina, and Grace in Broomall, Pa.

Easy was a special delivery from Mobile, Alabama. Our contact out there, Lil, sent us Easy. She said that he had been a return and that he was very special to her. We had to find an adopter worthy of this boy. Mike and Jane sent in their adoption application online. They recently lost Connor, a Retriever/Coccer mix, to cancer. Now they wanted to open their heart to a greyhound. They needed a greyhound that Mike could take to the office. Easy was perfect for them. He now lives with Mike and Jane in Keyport, New Jersey.

Mary has been at the GAA Adoption Kennel for over a year. Tom and Rose came into our kennel to look at the greyhounds. We introduced them to Mary and it was a perfect match. She loved them and wormed her way into their hearts. Mary now lives with Tom and Rose in Audubon, New Jersey.

Berretta started having seizures months after he arrived at our adoption kennel. He was put on medication and his seizures were under control. Artie and Terri recently lost their first greyhound Chelsea to cancer. It was a devastating lose for them and everyone who knew her. When they were ready, they came out to walk all the greyhounds to find the right one. It was Berretta's playful affectionate nature and his special circumstances that drew them to him. Bear, as he is now known, lives with Artie, Terri, and two greyhound sisters Lilly and Kerra in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Erica was one of two OPPS puppies that came to GAA from Kansas.  We posted her picture on the front of our website and she was adopted before she even arrived.  The Myers family have a greyhound named Buzz and a Chihuahua named Pedro.  Now they wanted to add a greyhound puppy to their pack.  Erica now lives with the Myers family, Buzz, and Pedro in Schwenksville, Pennsylvania.

We placed many of Helen's offspring throughout our years. We were just about to place a six month old puppy, not Helen's, in a home with one of her daughters, Hettie. When the Tiscot family came in the kennel to spend time with their new addition, they also spent time with Helen. They asked if we thought that they could take them both home together. We told them that would be greyt. Hettie would have her momma back, and Helen could be a surrogate mother to their new puppy Tickles. Helen now lives with the Tiscot family, her daughter Hettie, and her adopted daughter Tickles in Southampton, Pennsylvania.

Bridget met us at our event at Iron Hill Brewery. That is where she met the nicest people and the best greyhounds ever. She came out to the kennel with Joe to find a greyhound for them. They checked out a couple of greyhounds, but little Ms. Nellie won them over big time. They filled out the application in our playroom while Nellie got pets. Nellie now lives with Joe and Bridget in Bear, Delaware.

Janice had been in our kennel for a year. She is a sweet girl that just kept getting passed over. The Harrell family adopted their first greyhound Doug through GAA. When they were ready for a second, they brought Doug into the kennel to start meeting potential buddies. We introduced him to a few, but Janice was indeed the perfect fit for him and the family. Janice was adopted by the Harrell family exactly one year from when she arrived at GAA, and she lives with Doug in Franklinville, New Jersey.

The Enderly family came into the adoption kennel to find a greyhound. They asked to see Charmo. We brought her out and she went for a walk. They instantly fell in love with her, what was not to love. They walked another greyhound, but came back asking for Charmo again. They filled out their application to adopt her that day. Charmo now lives with the Enderly family in Wayne, New Jersey.

Denise traveled from Kansas to go to live with her brother, who we adopted out years before. She spent some time on a farm as a brood mom and then in an adoption kennel in Kansas. Well, the two siblings did not see eye to eye and we took her in to find her a forever home. The Glasford family sent in their adoption application on line and then came out to find a greyhound that would get along with their Golden Retriever Bryon. They walked Denise and then the two spent time together in the playroom. They got along greyt. Denise now lives with the Glasford family and Bryon in Ephrata, Pennsylvania.

Lori and Chris came into the adoption kennel to find a greyhound that fit them. We introduced them to a couple, but it was Gorgeous that really won them over. She was outgoing, sweet, and affectionate. She also had them wrapped around her little paw. Gorgeous now lives with Chris and Lori in Belmar, New Jersey.

Little Ms. Emma is such a happy greyhound that she kept smacking her tail into things and splitting it open. Eventually, we had to have a "tailectomy" which left her with a little "Dobie" tail. That didn't stop her outgoing and happy personality one bit. Dan and Lindsay came into the kennel looking for a greyhound just like Emma. So we showed them Emma and they loved her. Her personality is very contagious. Emma now lives with Dan and Lindsay in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Kevin was looking for a greyhound that was the right fit for him. We introduced him to Hurst, or Baby Huey as we call him. Hurst was a big boy with an even bigger heart. Kevin recognized what a greyt greyhound Hurst is and took him to his forever home. Hurst now lives with Kevin in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The Davenport family met GAA and the greyhounds at Petsmart. They came out to the kennel to find their greyhound. We introduced them to Quasar. He is a beautiful, playful, and greyt greyhound. We just knew that he was the one, and so did they. Quasar now lives with the Davenport family in Delran, New Jersey.

The Conord family sent in their adoption application on line. Once they were approved, they came out to find their greyhound. They narrowed it down to two, Becky and Simmons. They decided to give Becky a forever home. Then they called us the next day to tell us that they wanted both of them. Becky and Simmons now lives with the Conord family in Forked River, New Jersey.

Vincent and Kim sent in their adoption application online. Once they were approved, they came out to the adoption kennel to meet some greyhounds. Sometimes you just go with your gut and it works. We thought that Far was their greyhound and we were right. They fell in love with him and he was definitely smitten with them. Far now lives with Vincent and Kim in Massapequa, New York.

Russ and JoAnne adopted a greyhound through GAA.  They were interested in adopting a puppy and added their name to our puppy waiting list and waited.  We noticed that little Sandy, who is deaf, was looking for an agency to place her.  We announced that we were taking her and contacted Russ and JoAnne, who immediately said they wanted her.  How could they not?  Look at that face!!  Sandy now lives with Russ and JoAnne in Bear, Delaware.

The Valente family came out to our adoption kennel to see if a greyhound was the right pet for them. We asked them to walk Dante and spend sometime with him in our playroom. He showed them that not only was a greyhound the right pet for them, but that he was the right greyhound for them. They fell in love and filled out an adoption application. Dante now lives with the Valente family in Royersford, Pennsylvania.

Maggie always wanted to adopt a greyhound. Andy is a cat person and had to be shown what greyt pets greyhounds make. They came out to the adoption kennel and walked a couple. Thriller now lives with Maggie and Andy in Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
